Candidate for the Vieille Case Constituency

Maynard Joseph, born on the 4^th of May, 1957 attended the Vieille Case Primary School, then the Dominica Grammar School where he obtained GCE O Levels enabling him to attend University in Guyana where he achieved a certificate in Co-operative Accounting.

He returned to Dominica to serve on the Dominica Co-operative Credit Union League Board as well as the Dominica Credit Union League Boards Law Review Committee.

Joseph also pursued qualifications in teacher training, obtaining certificates from the Dominica Teachers College and the UWI School of education. Even as recently as 2002 he obtained an Executive Diploma in Management at the UWI Centre for Management studies.

Over the years he has been continuously involved in development, sitting on the boards of various committees such as Vice President of the Dominica Civil Service Association, member of the Dominica Banana Growers Central Committee and Member of the Dominica Marketing Corporation Board of Directors.

He has also remained active is his community of Vieille Case where he had served on different committees of the Vieille Case Co-operative Credit Union since the age of 18 eventually being elected Treasurer (Manager) in 1983. He served as Chairman of the Vieille Case District Branch of the Dominica Banana Grower's Association as well as the Chairman of the DBMC northern zonal committee. He has been elected three times consecutively to serve on the Vieille Case Village Council - Local Authority.

In 1990 he was elected Parliamentary Representative of Vieille Case and appointed Minister of Agriculture, Lands, Fisheries and Forestry serving for 5 years after which he was appointed senator in the Dominica House of Assembly.

Joseph has also been Associated with CLICO international Life - Barbados Ltd. as a Financial Advisor/Insurance Agent and engaged in small scale diversified agriculture involving tree crops, livestock, root crops and vegetables, writing of Last Wills and Testaments and the Drawing of Agreements
