Glen Ettienne
Candidate for the Soufriere Constituency

Forty-seven year old Glen Etienne of the Pointe Michel Village is well recognized by his neighbors as a staunch catholic and family man, and has made his presence felt as someone deeply involved in social and community efforts.
He has been a Pointe Michel Village Councilor since 2002, was elected Deputy Chairman in 2005 and has held the position since, acting as a medium between the people and the objectives they want to achieve for their community. Etienne was a member of the Supervisory Committee of the La Salette Credit Union.
An avid sportsman, Etienne has been both a member of the National Football Team and National Cricket Team, played with various teams such as the Celtics, Grand Academites, D.G.S. Scene City and Pointe Michel Football team and still hold the Dominica Grammar School Cross Country Record. He also lends his time and experience as manager of Pointe Michel football teams, manager of the Dominica Under-20 football team, Deputy Chairman of the Pointe Michel Sports Council and a Board Member of the Dominica Football Association.
Etienne's love of his community has engendered a slew of ideas and plans for its improvement and sustainability. In Pointe Michel, his priorities are the completion of the Sea Defense Wall and the development of the Poree Playing field and farming facilities and a Resource Centre. In Soufriere he plans to enhance the Tourism Industry with a Hotel and improvement of the Sulphur Spring attractions as well as develop sporting facilities there. The plans for Scotts Head include rehabilitation of the Fishing Complex, beautification of the beach and the opening of a community resource centre at the old school.
